• Local and Intercity Bus

    Local bus systems can be cost-effective.Two intercity bus carriers provide regularly scheduled service in Michigan, linking nearly 150 cities in both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas. In addition, charter companies offer specialized route service throughout the state. At the community level, 79 local transit agencies(including 20 urban transit agencies) provide service to Michigan's citizens in all 83 counties.

    Michigan intercity bus service is primarily provided by Greyhound Lines, Inc. and Indian Trails, Inc. with limited service by Megabus in southern Michigan.
