Life Cycle of the Gypsy Moth

Egg stage
EGG STAGE
Most of the life cycle of the gypsy moth is spent in the egg stage. Weather effects the exact time of egg laying and spring hatch. In Michigan the egg stage lasts from August to April. An individual egg mass may contain anywhere from 100 to 1,200 eggs.
