| Smoking |
Exposure to second-hand smoke significantly increases ear infections, childhood asthma, and respiratory problems in children. If smoking is allowed in your home or where your child is in care, read the Department of Community Health's Smoking Around Children brochure for more information.
Smoking is especially dangerous to expectant mothers and their unborn children. For more information, check out the free Expectant Mother’s Quit Kit.
You can also sign up on-line for the I Can Quit Smoking Cessation Program which offers free counseling and information on how you can get free nicotine patches and gum if you are uninsured. For more information, call 1-800-480-7848.
