Lead Poisoning Information & Prevention

It is very important to learn what causes lead poisoning and what you can do to decrease the risk of permanent learning, behavior and growth problems for your child.

The Department of Community Health website has a parents section that includes common questions and answers related to childhood lead poisoning, and a host of information about nutrition, methods of exposure, looking for lead in your home, cleaning tips, available literature, program contacts, and more.
