The ICMA (International City/County Management Association) is the local government leadership and management organization founded in 1914 to create excellence in local governance by advocating and developing the professional management of local government worldwide. An example of one of the many tools ICMA developed is a resource list on strategies to establish sustainable communites for older adults. To assist communities on how to plan for the demographic changes across American resulting from the wave of baby boomers, this resource list includes information about national organizations, funding, and reports on how communities can meet the need of older adults to successfully age in place.
