Michigan Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program

The Michigan Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP) provides free health benefit counseling services to those aged 65 and older, those who are Medicare beneficiaries due to disability, and their families. MMAP's provides timely, objective and accurate information and support to Michigan beneficiaries so that they can make informed decisions about their health care. Information and assistance is provided in the areas of: Medicare, Medicare + Choice (managed care options), medigap insurance, Medicaid, long term care insurance.

Counselors at local agencies provide information about benefits, comparative information about insurance products and managed care plans and assistance with claims, denials of service and other insurance related problems.

To obtain the services of a MMAP counselor, call toll-free 1-800-803-7174. This number will automatically route the caller to the MMAP nearest them where assistance can be provided over the phone or an appointment to meet, can be made.
