Creating Confident Caregivers...a program for family members caring for a loved one suffering from dementia

CClogo Creating Confident Caregivers is an exciting new program in Michigan for family caregivers of persons with dementia/memory loss. Using the Savvy Caregiver program, Creating Confident Caregivers is a six-session program led by trained dementia specialists. This university tested program provides participants with information, skills and attitudes to manage stress and increase their effectiveness. As part of a federally funded program, there is no charge to participants for class or materials; respite care for your family member can be provided free of charge while you attend.

What's in it for you? At a Creating Confident Caregivers class you will learn about

  • dementia and its effects on the brain
  • caregiver resources
  • managing behaviors
  • improving caregiving skills
  • how to handle everyday activities more easily and,
  • taking care of yourself to better care for your loved one.
Creating Confident Caregivers is implemented through several organizations througout the state.
