2011-Monroe County: The Blueprint for Aging Services for Monroe County

The Michigan Commission on Services to the Aging approved recognition to Monroe County for the Elder-Friendly Community Assessment completed by The Blueprint for Aging Services for Monroe County. Some of the strengths the Community for a Lifetime review panel noted included the following:
  • A comprehensive county-wide resource directory: The Senior Source.
  • Supportive housing activity, including modular ramps and a Housing Trust Fund.
  • A senior millage supports senior centers, in-home care and transportation.
  • A strong county resolution to support The Blueprint for Aging Services.
  • Commitment to a sustained effort on original and developing action plan steps.
