Public Act 94 of 1999 provides for up to $500 in additional funds to some recipients of the Michigan Merit Award. In order to qualify for these additional funds, the student:
- Must earn a Michigan Merit Award in the high school graduating Class of 2005 and Class of 2006, and
- Must have taken all four MEAP tests (reading, writing, mathematics, and science) while in the 7th and 8th grades, and
- Must have achieved qualifying scores on two, three or four of their 7th and 8th grade MEAP tests (reading, writing, mathematics, and science).
