• Adult Part-Time Grant The Adult Part-Time Grant is intended for financially needy, independent undergraduates who have been out of high school for at least two years. Eligible students must enroll at a participating public or independent degree-granting Michigan college or university on a part-time basis. The maximum grant is $600 per year for not more than two years of study. |
• Children of Veterans Tuition Grant The State of Michigan has recently enacted the Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Act, changing the funding source for the Children of Veterans Tuition Grant program and transferring administration of the program from the Michigan Veterans Trust Fund to the Michigan Higher Education Assistance Authority, Office of Scholarships and Grants.
The eligibility requirements contained in the new act are similar to the requirements in the act it replaced, except that it added eligibility for certain part-time students. The program will continue to provide up to $2,800 in tuition assistance per academic year to Michigan resident children of certain deceased or disabled members of the armed forces of the United States attending college in Michigan. • Electronic Payment Savings (EPS)* Electronic Payment Savings (EPS) provides borrowers with an option for automated loan payments and an interest rate reduction of 1/4 of 1% (0.25) on all Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program loans and MI-LOAN Program alternative student loans. |
• MI-LOAN Program This low cost alternative loan is intended to help Michigan students bridge the gap between financial aid and additional school tuition costs. |
• Michigan Advantage Consolidation* This federal loan consolidation program allows eligible federal student loans to be combined into one loan with the following borrower benefits: one-quarter of one percent (.25%) reduction in interest rate for automatic electronic payments (ACH) and a one percent (1%) reduction in interest rate after 36 on-time payments with a minimum consolidation amount of $7,500. |
• Michigan Competitive Scholarship The Michigan Competitive Scholarship is a program funded by the state of Michigan and is based on both financial need and merit. Students may use Competitive Scholarship funds at degree-granting Michigan public and independent postsecondary institutions. Awards are restricted to the cost of tuition and fees. |

• Michigan Education Trust The MET program is designed to help students and their families save for a future college education through the prepurchase of undergraduate tuition at any Michigan public university or college for a child residing in Michigan. |
• Michigan Engineering Incentive* The Michigan Engineering Incentive is a unique program designed to encourage more students to consider study and careers in the engineering and technology fields by offering a 0% interest rate and a credit equal to the federal loan origination fee for eligible students in an eligible engineering or technology program. |
• Michigan Merit Award The MMA was established to reward academic excellence based on high school assessment tests. Students may earn up to $3,000 which must be used for postsecondary educational purposes. |
• Michigan Nursing Scholarship The Michigan Nursing Scholarship is a non-need based award available to Michigan residents enrolled at least half time at an eligible institution in a program leading to a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN). |
• Michigan Promise Scholarship The Michigan Promise scholarship provides up to $4,000 to high school graduates for successfully completing two years of postsecondary education beginning with the high school graduating class of 2007. |
• Michigan Students First* Through Michigan Students First (MSF), borrowers can lower the cost of their federal Stafford and PLUS loans with a credit equal to the origination fee and a zero percent (0%) interest rate after 36 on-time payments. |

Michigan Work-Study jobs are usually on-campus, but many colleges have agreements with off-campus employers. Award amount varies, based in part upon need, wage and hours worked. The rate of pay will be at least the current Federal minimum wage. |
• The Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) The Michigan Higher Education Student Loan Authority lends and the Michigan Guaranty Agency insures students and parent borrower's money for higher education purposes through the Federal Stafford, Federal PLUS, and Consolidation loan programs. |
• Tuition Incentive Program This high school completion program offers to pay for the first two years of college and beyond for identified students who graduate from high school or complete their GED before age 20. |
