What happens if my FAFSA is not completed by the filing due date of March 1?

Answer:
March 1 is a priority date. Applications received after the recommended date will be considered if funds are available. Remember, your application must arrive at the federal processor by March 1 for priority consideration. However, even if it is beyond the priority date, it is recommended that you file the FAFSA so that you can be considered for any available sources of federal, state, and institutional (from colleges) financial aid.
