Must have been Medicaid eligible for 24 months within a 36 consecutive month period, starting with the 36 months prior to the student’s 12th birthday.              
Must attend an Independent, nonprofit, degree-granting institution.              
Must have participated in GEAR UP program for six years while in middle school and obtained a high school diploma or GED.            
Must be nominated by the GEAR UP Program and be selected to receive an award.            
Must have a parent or spouse that was killed in the line of duty as a police officer or fire fighter.              
Must have a parent who is total and permanently disabled, MIA, or deceased from the military.              
Must have a qualifying score on ACT and demonstrate need.              
Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA on or before March 1 for on-time consideration.        
FAFSA must be received on or before June 30 for on-time consideration.              
Must be a Michigan resident attending an eligible Michigan college.  
Must have obtained a high school diploma, or a certificate of completion, or a GED.      
Must have taught for five years at an eligible K-12 school.
