The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today reaffirmed its April 28, 2005 order that denied Michigan Consolidated Gas Company recovery of its share of a control premium paid by its parent company, DTE Energy Company, for the purchase of MCN Energy Group.
On May 1, in a similar case involving The Detroit Edison Company, the Supreme Court held that there was sufficient evidence on the record to support the MPSC's decision to exclude recovery of the control premium in rates and that the utility had failed to show that the MPSC's order was unlawful.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
