broadband mapping
The Michigan Public Service Commission was instrumental in Michigan's efforts to receive a $1.8 million grant from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on December 22, 2009. This was provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to launch a comprehensive broadband mapping initiative, Connect Michigan, which will help enable the state to collect data and develop a detailed map of its existing broadband infrastructure.
