The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today granted Lakeshore Energy
Services, LLC a license as an alternative gas supplier (AGS).
The Commission determined that the application is reasonable and in the public
interest and that by granting this request for a license, opportunities for
competition may expand.
The Commission conditioned the license on compliance with all other applicable
provisions of Public Act 634 of 2002 and the Commission's orders and administrative
rules. Failure to comply with any of these provisions may result in revocation
of the license or other penalties. In addition, the granting of the license
to Lakeshore Energy Services is conditioned on the provision of service to customers
within a reasonable time. Failure to do so may result in revocation of the license.
Lakeshore Energy Services applied for a license on March 10, showing its compliance
with the requirements for an alternative gas supplier under Public Act 634 and
the Commission's order (U-13694), which established a licensing procedure for
AGSs.
Lakeshore Energy Services is headquartered in Clinton Township, Mich.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
