MPSC Grants Alternative Gas Supplier License to EnergyUSA-TPC Corp.

Contact:  Judy Palnau (517) 241-3323

September 11, 2007

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today granted EnergyUSA-TPC Corp. a license as an alternative gas supplier (AGS).

The MPSC determined that the application is in the public interest and that by granting this request for a license, opportunities for competition may expand.

The Commission conditioned the license on compliance with all applicable provisions of Public Act 634 of 2002 and the Commission's orders and administrative rules. In addition, EnergyUSA-TPC Corp. must provide service to customers within a reasonable time. Failure to comply with any of these provisions may result in revocation of the license or other penalties.

EnergyUSA-TPC Corp. applied for a license on July 20, showing its compliance with the requirements for an alternative gas supplier under Public Act 634 and the Commission's order (U-13694), which established a licensing procedure for alternative gas suppliers.

The company is headquartered in Hammond, Ind. and has an office in Livonia, Mich.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.

Case No. U-15326
