The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today said it will hold a public hearing on the proposed revisions to the rules on billing practices for commercial and industrial gas service (Case No. U-14852) and the proposed revisions to the rules governing technical standards for electric service (Case No. U-14853).
The public hearing will be held at 9 a.m. on Tues., Nov. 20, at the MPSC's office in Lansing. It will be legislative in nature and any person may present data, views, questions, and arguments on the issues.

Interested persons may also submit written comments on the proposed revisions. Comments must be received by the MPSC by 5 p.m. on December 11. Comments may be e-mailed to mpscefilecases@michigan.gov. Written comments should be mailed to the Executive Secretary, Michigan Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 30221, Lansing, MI 48909 . All comments should reference Case No. U-14852 and Case No. U-14853. All information submitted to the Commission in this matter will become public information, available on the Commission's Web site, and subject to disclosure.
On Feb. 14, 2006, the MPSC sought permission from the State Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules (SOAHR) to revise rules governing billing practices applicable to commercial and industrial electric and gas customers and to revise the rules governing technical standards for electric service. The MPSC submitted draft revisions to SOAHR and the Legislative Service Bureau for their informal approvals, which were granted on Sept. 5 and Sept. 25, respectively.
