MPSC Begins Formal Complaint Proceeding Against Universal Gas & Electric Corporation

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued an order commencing a formal complaint proceeding against Universal Gas & Electric Corporation.

On Feb. 22, the MPSC began an investigation into the marketing and customer service policies and practices of Universal Gas & Electric Corporation (UGE).  After the MPSC staff found that the investigation was yielding unacceptable results, they asked the Commission to begin a formal, contested complaint proceeding. 

In today's order, the MPSC directs the MPSC staff to file a single unified complaint against Universal Gas & Electric Corporation by Aug. 1 that covers all matters the MPSC staff believes to be pertinent to the issue of whether the company's alternative gas supplier (AGS) license should be revoked.  

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
