The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement reconciling Alpena Power Company's 2008 power supply costs.

The settlement agreement found a net total under-recovery of $189,287, which the utility began to incorporate as surcharges in its current 2009 power supply cost recovery (PSCR) plan starting in January this year.  The surcharge will continue until the net under-recovery is collected.

The utility and the MPSC staff participated in the settlement agreement.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
