November 4, 2003
The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued an order approving a settlement agreement and authorizing Midwest Energy Cooperative to reconcile its power supply cost recovery (PSCR) revenues and expenses for the 12-month period ended December 31, 2002. The company filed its application on this matter on March 31, 2003.
Terms of the settlement agreement indicate that Midwest Energy Cooperative experienced an under-collection of $67,392 from monthly member-consumers and an under-collection of $1,449 from irrigation member-consumers.
The company will collect the under-recovery by applying a surcharge to its customers’ bills in the two months following this MPSC order, to be calculated based on projected sales in those months for all member-consumers. Any over-collected or under-collected amount of this surcharge will be carried forward into the 2003 PSCR reconciliation proceeding.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Consumer and Industry Services.
