December 18, 2003
The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued an order rescinding the license of Smoke Signal Communications to provide basis local exchange service.
The MPSC on Jan. 10, 2000 granted the company a license to provide basic local exchange service in Michigan. On November 4, 2003, however, Smoke Signal indicated its intent to surrender that license.
The rescission of the license also requires Smoke Signal to surrender to the North American Numbering Plan Administrator any numbers that had been assigned to it.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
