The Michigan Public Service Commission is actively seeking three positions:
1) Gas Safety Engineer (entry level or experienced): will help to ensure the integrity of Michigan’s gas pipelines and safety of the mitten state’s residents and property. The chosen candidate will have the luxury of working from home or a remote office after a brief probationary period in the Lansing or Traverse City office.
Gas Safety engineers perform inspections to make sure pipeline operators stay on their game and play the role of lead investigator when gas-related accidents occur, responding on-site to investigate and provide recommendations on how to prevent them in the future. Serve on special task forces and testify as an expert witness in contested gas safety cases. Training will be provided. Excellent benefits and competitive wages.

2) Manager of the Energy Markets Section: will coordinate cases with FERC while also serving as a technical advisor on hot button policy issues and programs relating to electric and gas at the state and federal level. The selected candidate will be the face of the Commission on these issues while representing the Michigan Agency for Energy and Commission on federal and state advisory boards, committees and panels.
