The Michigan Public Service Commission's (MPSC) statutory responsibilities related to telecommunications services require that some form of regulatory support be available to companies providing the services and customers using the services. In providing that support, the MPSC must recognize the policy to permit and encourage market competition to govern prices and services in markets where competition exists.
