MPSC Grants Alternative Electric Supplier License to DPL Energy Resources Inc.

Contact:  Judy Palnau (517) 241-3323

March 2, 2010

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today granted a license to DPL Resources Inc. as an alternative electric supplier (AES).  The company submitted an application for a license as an AES on Dec 22, 2009.

The MPSC approved the license based on a determination that the company possesses sufficient technical competence to engage in energy transactions, is capable of meeting safety requirements for electric operations, and complies with other lawful obligations.

The company may commence operation as an AES after it has established a Michigan office and has notified the MPSC staff of its establishment in writing.

The MPSC has opened a separate docket (Case No. U-16235) for the company to submit a renewable energy plan, as required by Public Act 295 of 2008.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.

Case No. U-16139 et al.
