The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement authorizing Michigan Consolidated Gas Company to sell four billion cubic feet of native base gas, saving customers approximately $12 million.
The gas is available to sell because of better than expected results from improvements made to the company's gas storage facilities.
Under the approved agreement, the utility also agreed not to file a general rate case before June 1.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
