Downtown CDBG Program

CDBG Downtown Infrastructure Grant Program

Communities are encouraged to contact their MSHDA CATeam Representative as soon as a potential downtown project is identified to determine if the project may qualify for a downtown CDBG grant. This grant program is designed to provide communities with financial assistance to assist with public infrastructure improvements that directly support private redevelopment projects located in traditional downtowns and in significant community gateways.

Priority will be given to projects leveraging the greatest amount of job creation and local/private investment. Proposed projects are expected to create and/or retain the largest number of jobs with the least amount of CDBG investment. Funding priority will be given to projects where the amount of CDBG funds per job created and/or retained is $20,000 or less.
