Homebuyer education is available through MSHDA’s Homeownership Counseling Program for individuals who are considering the purchase of a home. The education ensures that a homebuyer will have a good understanding of their mortgage loan, the closing process, budgeting, recapture taxes, basic home maintenance, avoiding predatory lending and foreclosure. |

MSHDA’s Homeownership Counseling Program is made up of nonprofit agencies, MSU Extension offices, Community Action agencies, and local units of government across the state. Services are paid for by MSHDA and provided free of charge to homebuyers and homeowners.
