Glass blowing furnaces, a pottery kiln, and greenhouses dedicated to preserving rare and native local flora-all located on a 6-acre landfill and powered by landfill gas (LFG).

Jackson County, NC went all the way in creating an energy park to fuel the local economy.  The park includes a biodiesel refinery, three professional blacksmith studios, and a series of greenhouses-all using landfill gas (LFG) as fuel.

North Carolina has over 130 municipal, county and private landfills. Methane gases from these landfills can be recovered to power industries and businesses.
