Arts Midwest They connect the Arts to audiences throughout the Midwest.

ARTES UNIDAS: a forum for Latino Arts and Culture in Michigan "is a statewide community of individuals and organizations working together to advance Latino arts and culture in Michigan. Artes Unidas is committed to the preservation and promotion of Latino arts and culture for all and to foster a deeper appreciation of Michigan’s living Latino cultural heritage."

Create Detroit: Bringing the Creative Class Together "provides a hub that can help interested people who want to get involved connect to all the various organizations that are already making Detroit and its suburbs a better place to live & work, to identify new projects that are necessary to fulfill it’s mission of making Detroit a talent magnet for the creative class, and to have fun."

The Michigan Association of Community Arts Agencies They "provide a network that connects arts and cultural organizations together for guidance, support, and inspiration."

Michigan Historic Preservation Network "It’s about bringing new life to historic neighborhoods... It’s about Main Street remaining a good place to shop... It’s about historic farmsteads and lighthouses, factories and churches being vital parts of Michigan’s landscape... It’s about choosing how your community grows and changes... Most of all, it’s about you getting involved."

Michigan Native American Arts Initiative "The goal of this initiative is to find ways to creatively increase the sharing of information between and about artists and to strengthen opportunities for support and recognition of artists."

National

The Alliance for American Quilts "brings together quilt makers and designers, the quilt industry, quilt scholars and teachers, and quilt collectors in the cause of documenting, preserving, and sharing our great American quilt heritage. We are committed to collecting the rich stories that historic and contemporary quilts tell about the nation’s diverse people and communities."

Alliance of Artists’ Communities "is the service organization for the field of artists’ communities and residencies. The Alliance gives a collective voice on behalf of its members, small and large, that leverages support for the field as a whole." They provide: "professional development consultations, workshops, and training seminars; research relevant to the field---conducted and published in-house; funding partnerships-bringing new financial resources to the field." They also connect: "members to each other through networking opportunities at conferences and regional meetings; artists, students, and others to information on artists; communities through the publication of our directory, Web site, and newsletter; and the field to other professionals in the arts, sciences and beyond through speaking engagements and outreach."

Americans for the Arts "is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. With 45 years of service, we are dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts."

American Association of Museums "is dedicated to promoting excellence within the museum community. Through advocacy, professional education, information exchange, accreditation, and guidance on current professional standards of performance, AAM assists museums staff, boards, and volunteers across the country to better serve the public."

American Association for State & Local History is a national organization that "provides leadership service, and support for its members, who preserve and interpret state and local history in order to make the past more meaningful in American Society."

American Historical Association (AHA) is "the umbrella organization for the profession, the AHA plays an important public role as a leader and public advocate for the field. Within the profession, the Association defines ethical and professional standards, and offers advice on good practices in the field. Externally, the Association works broadly in behalf of historical studies, the collection and preservation of historical documents and artifacts, and the dissemination of historical research."

American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) "is the world’s largest association of travel professionals. Our 20,000-plus members include travel agents and the companies whose products they sell such as tours, cruises, hotels, car rentals, etc. We are the leading advocate for travel agents, the travel industry and the traveling public."

Arts Education Partnership (AEP) "is a national coalition of arts, education, business, philanthropic and government organizations that demonstrate and promote the essential role of the arts in the learning and development of every child and in the improvement of America’s schools. The Partnership includes over 140 organizations that are national in scope and impact. It also includes state and local partnerships focused on influencing educational policies and practices to promote quality arts education."

Artist Help Network "is a free information service designed to help artists take control of their careers. The network assists artists in locating information, resources, guidance, and advice on a comprehensive range of career-related topics. The network focuses primarily on subjects of interest to fine artists. People working in the applied arts, arts administration, and arts-related fields will also find this site useful."

Association of Hispanic Arts (AHA) "is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of Latino arts, artists and arts organizations as an integral part of the cultural life of the nation. We facilitate projects and programs designed to foster the appreciation, growth and well being of the Latino cultural community."

Business Committee for the Arts (BCA) "is a national not- for-profit organization that brings business and the arts together. It provides businesses of all sizes with the services and resources necessary to develop and advance partnerships with the arts that benefit business, the arts and the community. The mission of the BCA is to ensure that the arts flourish in America by encouraging, inspiring and stimulating businesses to support the arts in the workplace, in education and in the community."

Creative Cluster "examines the growth of the cultural industries and their role in economic development and regeneration. We provide a network and events for people engaged in the development of the creative industries to: Showcase their work, Learn from each other, Identify and articulate policy issues, and Connect to development resources."

Grantmakers in the Arts "is a membership organization whose trade is discourse on ideas about arts philanthropy within a diverse community of grantmakers... GIA maintains a lightweight infrastructure that supports its members’ work together. GIA programs include an annual conference, a major periodical, research, and other convening and communication services."

National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture "is a nonprofit association whose membership comprises a diverse mix of organizations and individuals dedicated to a common goal: the support of independent film, video, audio and online/multimedia arts."

National Association of Artists’ Organizations (NAAO) "strengthens artists’ organization by convening them, connecting them, and championing their work and, through them, serves the diverse artists, art, and free expression that inspire and enrich American society."

National Association of Independent Artists is an organization that enhances "the economic well-being of people who exhibit their work at high quality outdoor and indoor art and/or fine craft shows, encourage creative expression and artistic excellence, and expand public awareness, appreciation and acquisition of fine art and fine craft."

The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies They are a membership organization that unites, represents and serves our nation’s states and jurisdictional arts agencies.

National Performance Network "connects Artists with communities around two simple ideas – to help artists make work in their own neighborhoods, and to cross geographic and cultural divides to increase the traffic of fresh, challenging artistic work."

Travel Industry Association of America "serves you as a voice and resources for all components of the travel industry while promoting and facilitating U.S. Travel."

Global

Association of African American Museums (AAAM) "is a non-profit member organization established to support African and African American focus museums nationally and internationally, as well as the professionals who protect, preserve and interpret African and African American art, history and culture."

Global Mural Arts & Cultural Tourism Association "Promoting Economic Development through the Arts and Culture within our Communities" Their mission is "to market and publicize the abundant wealth of artists, towns and cultural events around the Globe... making this world a better place for all to live in."

The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) "is the largest and oldest ecotourism organization in the world dedicated to generating and disseminating information about ecotourism."

World Artist Directory "encompasses a network of artist advocacy services and resources delivered by Internet views and print publications. Our visitors include artists, art educators and students, private and public arts institutions, art gallery owners, event promoters, and of course the general art patron... our network reaches up to 1.5 million patrons daily."

World Tourism Organization Is a membership organization that "plays a catalytic role in promoting technology transfers and international cooperation, in stimulating and developing public-private sector partnerships and in encouraging the implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, with a view to ensuring that member countries, tourist destinations and businesses maximize the positive economic, social and cultural effects of tourism and fully reap its benefits, while minimizing its negative social and environmental impacts."
