About the Michigan Lighthouse Fund

michigan lighthouse fund logo

Two-thirds of Michigan's lighthouses currently under federal ownership are scheduled for disposal within the next decade. Many of them are in peril. They need help to remain as the stalwart landmarks that have graced our landscape and contributed so significantly to our state's economic and historical well-being. You can help.

The Michigan Lighthouse Fund is a 501c3 organization established to assist local stewards and create a statewide funding source for lighthouse restoration. MLF is working to create a substantial financial reserve which can generate grants and loans for these silent sentinels to get the help they need.

The money will be used to repair and restore lighthouses, fog signal buildings and keepers' quarters all over Michigan. We must do our part so they can continue to serve citizens and visitors alike, with their stories of adventure and commerce, courage and determination.

Don't let the lights be abandoned, slowly demolished by weather and water. They are public treasures. Help us to help them. Make a tax-deductible contribution today.
