Governor Granholm Signs Legislation for Enhanced Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits; Credit Expected to Boost Historic Property Development
Jan. 13, 2009 - Today Senator Jason Allen, former House Majority Leader Steve Tobocman, members of the development community and historic preservation professionals joined Governor Jennifer M. Granholm at a ceremonial bill signing for legislation that enhances the existing federal and state historic preservation tax credits in Michigan. The legislation is expected to produce hundreds of jobs across the state and spur millions of dollars in investment in historic buildings and districts.

Oct. 9, 2007 - The Michigan Department of History, Arts and Libraries today announced key findings from the CEDOT: Great Lakes Arts, Culture, and Heritage Participation Survey, developed in partnership with Michigan State University. The long-awaited survey provides economic information from more than 6,000 households in Michigan and the surrounding Great Lakes states, concerning residents' arts and cultural participation and consumerism, from their purchases and travel decisions to employment and education opportunities.
