Time Limited Assistance Program (FIP)

In partnership with the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS), the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) has committed to providing short term rental or mortgage assistance to households who have time limited out of the Family Independence Program (FIP). These funds will be used to pay rental or mortgage assistance for households who are searching for employment or who have recently obtained employment. Only time limited FIP households referred to the Housing Assessment and Resource Agency (HARA) from an assigned DHS staff person will be eligible for this program. The goal of this program is housing self-sufficiency through employment.

Please review the Policy and Procedures for additional information.
