MSHDA Disability Resources
 

Located in this section of MSHDA’s Web site people with disabilities, their families, employers and service members can quickly find information related to MSHDA rental, homeownership or property improvement programs that can be of assistance. This section also contains information for developers, property owners and management agents who need information on accessible building.

 
Michigan Housing Locator for Renter Assistance
The Michigan Housing Locator is a search engine that will allow you to locate affordable housing within your desired area.
 
Builder Resources for Accessibility & Design
Design and construction documents for each development shall meet the barrier free requirements of MSHDA's Handicapped Design Policy, as modified.
 
Homeownership
MSHDA has a Down Payment Assistance (DPA) program for low and moderate-income people with disabilities or families where a family member with a disability is residing in the household.  Eligible families may receive up to $12,000 in DPA to cover pre-paid costs, closing costs and down payment.
 
Management Agents
The following forms and guidelines are to be used by Management Agents that oversee either MR or Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) developments.
 
Low Income Housing Tax Credits
Those interested in construction or rehabilitation of projects for tenants with disabilities, using the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program, can find information and application forms here:
