Executive

Agency executive administration, governmental relations, public relations, communications, market research, planning, resource allocation, and program development,urban revitalization, cultural economic development and program compliance.

Administration and Office Services

Agency administration, office services, human resources and information technology project managment.

Asset Management

Physical property operations of rental developments, management financial analysis, resident eligibility, portfolio program development, resale and reinvestment.

Community Development

Financial assistance through the Housing Resource Fund (HRF) and CDBG County Allocation Programs which are complemented by the Technical Assistance Program. Eligible nonprofit organizations and local units of government use these funding sources for a variety of affordable housing programs. Eligibile projects include homebuyer assistance, homeowner assistance, rental rehabilitation, rental development, neighborhood preservation, and NSP eligible activities.


Finance

Capital formation, financial management, accounting, audits, and budgets.

Historic Preservation and Archaeology

Protection of historic and archaeological sites and other cultural resources helps property owners, developers, and local and state agencies recognize and seize opportunities to maintain and rehabilitate structures that define communities and define Michigan. Administers the National Register of Historic Places program in Michigan, the Michigan Lighthouse Assistance Program, and incentives programs that include federal tax credits and pass-through grants available to certified local governments. Carrys out responsibilities mandated by the National Historic Preservation Act. The archaeology staff works with state agencies and tribal organizations to record, investigate, interpret and protect Michigan's archaeological sites both on land and underwater. The staff also maintains the state's archaeological site file and curates archaeological collections.

Homeownership

Loan servicing,home mortgages, Mortgage credit certificates, and homeownership counseling.

Rental Services and Homeless Solutions

Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) and other Rental Assistance Programs, Family Self-Sufficiency Program, and "Key To Own" Homeownership Program. Emergency shelter, transitional housing, rent subsidy and permanent supportive housing for homeless and special needs populations, homeless prevention, community planning for ending homelessness, and related technical assistance.

Legal

Legal aspects of loan underwriting and bond and note sales, loan closings, reviews of administrative procedures and legislation, public hearings, and fair housing.

Rental Development

Multifamily direct loans, pass through rental housing development loans, special housing for the developmentally disabled, Low Income Housing tax credit program, technical services including design review, construction monitoring, inspection, appraisals, environmental review, energy conservation, and fire safety.

Southeast Michigan Development

Provide assistance through outreach and marketing of several MSHDA programs in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, St. Clair, and Livingston counties. Programs include Multi-family, Tax credits, Community Development, Brownfield Redevelopment and Preservation.


Downtown and Community Services

Provides technical assistance related to MainStreet program.
