Monroe Jane Doe - White female between 20 and 30 years old. DETROITThe Michigan State Police (MSP), Monroe County Sheriff's Department and FBI are asking for the public's help in identifying a female homicide victim whose body was discovered 27 years ago, on March 31, 1982, near the Monroe Power Plant.

MSP forensic artist, Trooper Sarah Krebs of the Detroit Post, recently completed a facial reconstruction using the victim's skull.  Investigators are hopeful someone will recognize the victim based on the reconstruction.

The victim is a white female with brown shoulder length hair.  She was between 20 and 30 years old at the time of her death.  She stood between 4'10" and 5'4" tall, weighed approximately 110 pounds and had Type O blood.  She had pierced ears and straight teeth, possibly from orthodontic care.

This Jane Doe was found on the shores of Lake Erie at the Monroe Power Plant, with a cord tied around her neck, leading detectives to determine she was a victim of manual strangulation.  She was nude except for a plaid shirt.

Anyone with information about the identity of the victim or the case is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Department at (734) 240-7745.
