Mrs. Tiffany Vedder is the recipient of the MSP Distinguished Service Award EAST LANSINGMichigan State Police (MSP) Director Colonel Peter C. Munoz is pleased to announce that Mrs. Tiffany Vedder is the recipient of the MSP Distinguished Service Award for her dedication to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

The Distinguished Service Award is presented to MSP members who demonstrate extraordinary diligence and perseverance, and perform activities beyond what are normally expected.

Vedder, an avid runner, has participated in the Greater Lansing Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure for the past five years.  When the Greater Lansing Law Enforcement Challenge was initiated three years ago as a contest between local law enforcement agencies to see who could raise the most money, Vedder organized an MSP team.  Under her direction, the MSP team is undefeated and has raised over $17,000 for the charity.

In addition, Vedder helped organize the Concert for the Cure held at Bath High School.  The October 2008 event raised over $8,500 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

The Race for the Cure, which has become the largest 5K run/fitness walk in the world, is dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, promoting awareness, celebrating survivorship, and honoring those who have lost their battle with the disease.

Vedder joined the department in 2004, and is currently a departmental analyst in the Purchasing Unit of the Budget and Financial Services Division.  She currently lives in Delta Township with her husband, Erich, and daughter, Alexis.
