SANE is a multijurisdictional drug task force team the investigates drug and criminal activity in the following counties: Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Emmet, Luce, Mackinac, and Otsego Counties. Participating agencies include Charlevoix County Sheriff’s Department, Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, Emmet County Sheriff's Department, Sault Ste. Marie City Police Department, and Michigan State Police.  SANE also assists departments within its coverage area to investigate violent crimes and gang related activity.
