November 16, 2009 - Official Statement: 55 Laid-Off Troopers Back To Work Today

Effective today, 55 Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers are back to work, after being laid off on June 28, 2009. The 55 returning troopers were recalled based on seniority to their previous work sites.

Work sites receiving troopers include:

Hart Post - 2

Jackson Post - 1

Ionia Post - 2

Jonesville Post - 2

Lakeview Post - 2

Lansing Post - 1

Newaygo Post - 3

Wayland Post - 2

Second District

Detroit Post - 1

Seventh District

Monroe Post - 1

Houghton Lake Post - 1

Richmond Post - 3

Kalkaska Post - 1

Ypsilanti Post - 5

Manistee Post - 2

Petoskey Post - 1

Third District

Traverse City Post - 1

Bad Axe Post -  1

Bay City Post - 2

Eighth District

Bridgeport Post - 1

The addition of these troopers brings at-post trooper staffing to 1,000 troopers. Thirty-seven troopers remain on layoff.
