Executive Resource Section

Provides administrative support and various services to the Director and department members, other state departments, the public, and law enforcement agencies in other states.

This section oversees Attorney General Opinion requests and administrative rule promulgation; assists in locating existing law sources for department policy decisions; performs special projects assigned by the Director; maintains the department's policies and procedures (Official Orders); and coordinates review and revision of the department's forms. Computerization of the Official Order system provides on-line paperless access to the department policies.

In addition, this section acts as a governmental liaison representing the department and statewide law enforcement on proposed legislation affecting the criminal justice system. Members testify at hearings, provide technical information to legislators, and interact with other law enforcement groups to ensure that enacted criminal justice legislation will benefit the citizens of Michigan.
