Michigan State Police Success at National Police Shoot!

East Lansing.  Officer Steve Harmon (Coldwater Post) and Officer James Griffiths (Corunna Post) of the Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Division returned home with several awards from the September 19-23, 2004, National Championship in Jackson, Mississippi, and the Mississippi State Championship in Pearl, Mississippi.

 

At the Mississippi State Championship, Ofcr. Steve Harmon (2004 National Police Champion) took first place in his classification for the revolver category.  Ofcr. James Griffiths (2000 National Police Champion) took first place in his classification for the semi-automatic pistol category.

 

At the National Championship, the two officers competed as a team where they dominated the field with the revolver, taking first place for their team classification.  They also took a respectable fourth place with the semi-automatic.

 

Both officers also earned individual trophies, team plaques, two cases of ammunition, a custom-built competition revolver, and various other items.
