Facial Reconstruction Leads To Identity Of Corpse Found In Funeral Home

Identity of a man discovered in the abandoned Pope Funeral Home - Jimmy Adams.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is pleased to announce that a facial reconstruction released to the media on June 1 helped to identify a corpse found in August 2005 at a vacant funeral home in Detroit. Family members identified the unknown male as Jimmy Lee Adams, 64, of Detroit after seeing news reports of the facial reconstruction.

MSP Forensic Artist Tpr. Sarah Foster used the unidentified human skull to create a 3-dimensional facial reconstruction in hopes someone would recognize the deceased.

"I am pleased to have been able to help bring closure to this family and allow them to provide a proper burial for their loved one," stated Foster.

Photos of this reconstruction and other unidentified human remains can be found on the MSP Web site at www.michigan.gov/forensic_artists.

The MSP Forensic Artist Program is one of the nation's only state-level teams with a network of artists available on a 24-hour basis to assist state, county or local police agencies at no cost to them.

FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Trooper Sarah Foster, MSP Detroit Post, (313) 456-6600.
