LANSING.
The Michigan State Police (MSP) is pleased to announce
Specialist Sergeant James McCloughan of the Grayling Forensic Science
Laboratory received the first annual David L. Motsinger Horizon Award
from the American Polygraph Association (APA) for his accomplishments in
the polygraph profession.
The award was presented
at the Annual American Polygraph Association Conference in Las Vegas,
Nevada in 2006. The David L. Motsinger Horizon Award recognizes
individuals with less than 10 years of experience or as a member of the
APA who, early in their career, demonstrate loyalty, professionalism and
dedication to the polygraph profession.
McCloughan joined the
department in 1994, and graduated as a member of the 110th
Trooper Recruit School. After graduation, he was assigned to the Flint
Post. In 2000, he was appointed to the Grayling Forensic Science
Laboratory where he continues to serve as a polygraph examiner.
A native of South Haven,
McCloughan holds a bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University.
