At a special ceremony today, the Michigan State Police (MSP) recognized students and faculty from the Saginaw Career Complex for their efforts to restore an MSP 1995 Chevrolet Caprice patrol car.
"The Michigan State Police appreciates the generosity of the school, and the talented work of the students and faculty in restoring this important piece of State Police history," said Captain Daniel Atkinson, commander of the MSP Special Operations Division.
The 1995 Chevrolet Caprice joins a 1937 Ford, 1975 Plymouth Fury, 1991 Chevrolet Camaro and a 1992 Ford Mustang, which make up the department's historic fleet. These specialty vehicles are used for parades and other public events around the state.
Last year, the Saginaw Career Complex restored the interior mechanics and exterior of the 1975 Plymouth Fury and the 1992 Ford Mustang.
