East Lansing, MI - The Michigan State Police has announced that forensic analyst Bryan Taube of the Southeast Criminal Investigative Division (SECID), Computer Crimes Unit, and forensic analyst Ron Krause of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Computer Crimes Unit, have earned the title of Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) from the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS). Taube and Krause are two of five people in Michigan and the only Michigan State Police employees to receive such certification.

"Computer crimes is the largest growing area of crime" stated Lt. Col. Robert Bertee, Deputy Director, Investigative Services Bureau. "The certification is highly regarded in the forensics area and adds to their credentials when testifying in court on computer crimes cases. We are proud of their hard work and dedication to computer forensics."

The testing process to become a CFCE takes approximately one year and has been completed by only 300 people worldwide.
