Niles Native Promoted to Motor Carrier Sergeant

Lansing.  The Michigan State Police has announced the promotion of Motor Carrier Officer Linda Schneider Shinsky to Motor Carrier Sergeant and field supervisor at the Bridgman Post.

 

As Sergeant at the Bridgman Post, Shinsky is responsible for providing leadership in the Motor Carrier Division operations, and overseeing programs for commercial vehicle transportation in Berrien County.  As part of her duties, Shinsky will be responsible for the management of the New Buffalo weigh stations and supervising the daily activities of nine Motor Carrier Officers.

 

Shinsky enlisted with the State Police on April 26, 1985, graduating as a member of the 3rd Motor Carrier Recruit School.  In her 18-year career, she has served at the New Buffalo and Bridgman posts.

 

Shinsky holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology from Western Michigan University.  A native of Niles, she and her husband James, currently reside in Niles with their two children.
