Cheboygan Native Promoted to Motor Carrier Sergeant

Lansing.  The Michigan State Police has announced the promotion of Motor Carrier Officer Brad Banks to Sergeant and Commander of the Investigation Unit of the Motor Carrier Division.

 

As Commander of the Investigation Unit of the Motor Carrier Division, Sgt. Banks is responsible for providing leadership for the Motor Carrier Investigators stationed throughout the state.  As part of his duties, Sgt. Banks will act as the Division's coordinator for compliance reviews, as well as the oversight and direction for regulatory and criminal investigations involving commercial transportation.

 

Sgt. Banks enlisted with the department in 1995 and graduated as a member of the 10th Motor Carrier Recruit School.  In his 8 1/2 year career, he has served at the Monroe and Jackson Posts.

 

Sgt. Banks holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Michigan University.  A native of Cheboygan, he and his wife Tracey currently live in Lansing.
