Results of July 2008 Enforcement Initiative

 

From July 16 - 30, seven law enforcement agencies in 34 counties  across Northern Michigan, participated in a Sex Offender Registry enforcement sweep.  During the sweep, officers conducted compliance checks at the residences' of 650 registered offenders.

Results:
·          447 offenders were found in compliance with the  Michigan Sex Offender Registration Act
·          Officers arrested 13 non-compliant offenders 
·          Warrants are being sought for an additional 23 offenders found non-compliant

  

April 2008 Enforcement Initiative

From April 16 - 30, nearly 50  law enforcement agencies in 29 counties  across Lower Michigan, participated in a Sex Offender Registry enforcement sweep.  During the sweep, officers conducted compliance checks at the residences of 2,665 registered offenders.

Results:
·          1,608 offenders were found in compliance with the Michigan Sex Offender Registration Act
·          Officers arrested 61 non-compliant offenders (51 for registry violations and 10 for other violations)
·          Warrants are being sought for an additional 251 offenders found non-compliant
