The body of a 61-year-old Racine woman who had been missing for
nearly two years was identified by authorities last week, 19 months after it was
found in Michigan.
Barbara Ann Biehn was found March 25, 2004, in Pigeon Lake, which has an
inlet to Lake Michigan in Ottawa County, about 10 minutes west of Grand Rapids,
Mich., said Lt. Mark Bennett of the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department.
The remains of a white female, aged 45-60, were found floating in Pigeon Lake,
West Olive, Michigan on March 25, 2005. It was estimated the body was in the
water approximately 9 months. The victim appeared to have been wearing a tank
top style shirt as discoloration was observed in her skin revealing straps over
the shoulders. She had extensive orthopedic surgery on her left ankle. A
Forensic anthropologist concluded the woman was approximately 45 - 60 years of
age and of European (Caucasian) ancestry.
In July, 2005, a facial reconstruction was completed by Tpr. Matt Churchill.
The victim did not have hair when she was recovered. Different wigs were used to
indicate possible hair styles.
