John Doe #4 - IDENTIFIED

John Doe #4 - Identified - Shawn Patrick Raymond, missing since July 23, 1983.

Investigators announce the identification of "John Doe #4", a skull found in the Clinton River in Harrison Township in 1992.  The victim was identified last week as Shawn Patrick Raymond, a 21year old Clay Township resident who was reported missing in 1983 by his mother.  The skull was identified by a "tip" given by Sgt. Tim Brown, a Michigan State Police Accident Reconstructionist who recognized Shawn's face in the reconstruction. This ended a 21 year old mystery as to where Shawn had disappeared.  Now a joint effort with the Macomb County Sheriff's Office and the Michigan State Police  - Richmond Post will investigate Shawn's death.  Shawn Raymond was last seen July 23, 1983 when he left his mother's home just outside of Algonac to go to a bar in Detroit.  Neither Shawn nor his vehicle were seen again.

In September 1992, a skull was found in the Clinton River, Harrison Township in Macomb County. Although many leads were investigated, the skull was never identified.  A facial reconstruction was done on this individual in 2003.

The statistics of this skull are as follows:

Age: 18-35
Race: Caucasion
Gender: Male

If you have any information to help solve Shawn's disappearance, please contact D/Sgt. Jim Haggerty at the Michigan State Police - Richmond Post, (586) 727-0200.
