Facts
· As of December 31, 2005, Michigan’s CHR system and AFIS had 1,794,832 active State Identification Numbers (SIDS). Each SID represents an individual with at least one arrest and set of fingerprints. The total number of arrests on the CHR system is 3,976,459 as of December 31, 2005.
· The AFIS unsolved latent print database has over 49,000 registered prints.
· SNAP had over 515,000 records comprised of over 895,000 photos.
· CHR processes over 400,000 criminal history records each year.
Accomplishments
· ICHAT received a Michigan Excellence in Technology Award for the Best Application Serving the Public.
· Implemented the new Criminal History Record System (CHR).
· Worked with Identix Identification Services to roll out applicant prints statewide. There are 62 agencies (33 sheriff departments, 24 local police departments and 5 school districts) submitting applicant prints electronically. Over 45% all applicant submissions are coming in electronically.
· SNAP has 33 counties now submitting images to the database.
